Audits
Why conduct audits?
Audits enable the OISC to check that all policies and procedures required by the Commissioner's Code and Rules are in place and working effectively. They also gives the OISC the opportunity to discuss with advisers any issues they may wish to raise, or any concerns in relation to the OISC's requirements, or the OISC generally.
What do audits cover?
Audits cover assessment of policies and procedures and assessment of adviser competence in the delivery of immigration advice or services. When an adviser is due to be audited, OISC staff will explain how the audit process works, what is involved and associated timescales.
When are audits conducted?
The OISC aims to audit all newly regulated organisations within 12 months of approval. Following this the OISC will determine when further audits are required.
Advisers will be contacted to arrange a suitable date for any proposed audit. When this date has been confirmed, the OISC expects the adviser to be available.
